Phenoxyethanol

This glycol ether is often used in dermatological products such as skin creams. A colorless oily liquid, phenoxyethanol is a bactericide usually used in conjunction with quaternary ammonium compounds.  It is often used in place of sodium azide in biological buffers since it is less toxic and non-reactive with copper and lead. Phenoxyethanol is moderately soluble in water. Available in two purity levels, G and high purity SP.
